Robert Sweeney

Robert J. Sweeney, P.E. was appointed Executive Secretary of the Mackinac Bridge Authority on August 5, 2002. As Executive Secretary he is responsible for the day to day operations of the Mackinac Bridge.

Mr. Sweeney’s career has spanned more than twenty-five years in a variety of positions in the transportation industry. Prior to his appointment at the Mackinac Bridge he was the Engineer in charge of the six county Michigan Department of Transportation Cadillac office. He holds a civil engineering degree from Michigan State University and is a licensed engineer.

Bob lives in St. Ignace, Michigan with his wife Maureen and their two children.
