George La Blonde III, Superior Extrusion

George T. LaBlonde, III

George T. LaBlonde currently serves as the President and Chairman of the Board at Superior Extrusion Inc. in Gwinn, Michigan. George and his family hail from Ironwood, Michigan and following completion of his undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University was commissioned into the US Army.  George successfully completed the US Army Aviation Officer Basic Course, Officer Rotary Wing Aviator’s Course, and the UH-60 Aircraft Qualification Course before his assignment to 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.  George served in increasing levels of responsibility leading up to his service in Saudia Arabia and Iraq during Operation Desert Storm.  George also participated in combat support operations in Somalia while assigned as a member of the 10th Mountain Division.  George served as the Aviation Liaison Officer for Task Force Ranger which was well chronicled in the movie “Black Hawk Down”.  George is the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and other accolades based on this combat service.

George transitioned to civilian life in 1994 and became one of Scottsdale, Arizona’s preeminent custom home general contractors serving as owner/manager of Pinnacle Point Homes.  George’s homebuilding focused primarily within the North Scottsdale golf course communities and throughout the Sonoran Valley and Phoenix.  LaBlonde transitioned back to the Upper Peninsula in 2010 and quickly was elected to the Board of Directors of Superior Extrusion.  George was elected as Chairman of Board in 2016 and currently serves as both Chairman and President of Superior Extrusion.  George worked closely with Randy DeBolt, founding father of Superior Extrusion, on two major plant expansions over the past five years.  Superior Extrusion successfully completed their most recent expansion in June of 2023. This plant expansion included over 138,000 square feet of new construction to house a new 9-inch, 3000-ton extrusion press and respective pack and ship capabilities.  In addition, George has faithfully served the veterans within Marquette County over the past ten years.  George served as the Chairman of the Marquette County Veterans Affairs Committee from 2014-2022 and volunteers regularly at the Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette.  LaBlonde is the proud father of his two children (George IV, Chantel).
